ഈ പ്രദേശത്ത് താമസിച്ചിരുന്ന ഒരു വ്യക്തിയുടെ തെയ്യമാണിത്, നാടോടിക്കഥകളെ അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കിയുള്ളതാണ് കഥ. നമ്പ്യാലൻ തെയ്യം കഥയാണ് പ്രദേശത്തെ സഹായിക്കുന്ന ദേവത, തന്റെ നിസ്വാർത്ഥമായ  പ്രവർത്തനത്തിലൂടെ ഒരു കുടുംബം  ദൈവകരോ വിശുദ്ധനോ ആയിത്തീരുന്നു. വ്യക്തിക്ക് ഒരു ആരാധനാലയം നൽകുകയും വർഷം തോറും  അവന്റെ  സ്മരണയ്ക്കായി തെയ്യം കെട്ടിയാടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

വാളും പരിചയും കൈവശമുള്ള ഒരു യോദ്ധാവ് തെയ്യമാണ് നമ്പ്യാലൻ തെയ്യം. അതുല്യമായ ശിരോവസ്ത്രവും രൂപവുമുണ്ട്.

കണ്ണൂർ ഏഴോം നങ്ങലം കല്ലേൻ തറവാട് നമ്പ്യാലൻ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ എല്ലാ വർഷവും ജനുവരി 15, 16 തീയതികളിൽ  ഈ തെയ്യം ദർശിക്കാം.

It is a tale of a person who lived in this region and the story is based on folklore.

Nambialan Theyam Katha is the deity who helps the locality and through his selfless action a family becomes gods or saints. A shrine is given to the person and theyam is tied annually in his memory.

Nambialan Theyam is a warrior Theyam with sword and shield. It has a unique headdress and appearance.

This Theyam can be seen on 15th and 16th of January every year at Kannur Ezhom Nangalam Kallen Tharavad Nambialan Temple.
