പരവ ചാമുണ്ഡി, പരവ കാളി, അയ്യം പരവ എന്നീ പേരുകളിലും ഈ തെയ്യം അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു. പരമേശ്വര പുത്രിയും  മഹാരൗദ്ര മൂർത്തി സങ്കല്പവുമാണ്. മന്ത്രവാദികൾക്കു ഉപാസന മൂർത്തിയുമാണ്. വേലൻ, മാവിലാൻ സമുദായക്കാരാണ്  ഈ തെയ്യം കെട്ടിയാടുന്നത്.

നടുവില്‍ ഒതയോത്തിടത്തില്‍ കെട്ടിയാടിയ പരവ തെയ്യം, വിഷ്ണുമൂര്‍ത്തിയുടെ ചങ്ങാതി എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന  പരവ രാത്രിയിലാണ് കെട്ടിയിറങ്ങുക, ഉടനെ തന്നെ അവസാനിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. കൊഴുക്കലിടക്കാരുടെ പരദേവതയായ  ആലക്കുന്നില്‍ ചാമുണ്ഡി, വിഷ്ണുമൂര്‍ത്തി തന്നെയാണ്. സാധാരണ കാണുന്ന വിഷ്ണുമൂര്‍ത്തിയില്‍ നിന്നും, മുടിയിലും ഉടയിലും  മുഖത്തെഴുത്തിലും അല്‍പ്പം വ്യത്യാസം കാണാം.  കൂടാതെ ഇത് പുറപ്പെട്ട് കലാശം കഴിഞ്ഞതിനു ശേഷം ആലക്കുന്നില്‍ ചാമുണ്ഡിക്ക് നല്‍കിയ ചില  സ്ഥാനങ്ങളുണ്ട്. അങ്ങോട്ടേക്ക് പോകുന്ന പതിവുണ്ട്. പുലര്‍ച്ചെ, തനിയെ, വെളിച്ചമില്ലാതെ പോകുന്ന  ഇതിന് പരിവാറ്റ് പോവുക എന്നാണ് പറയുക.

The Parava Theyam, which is tied in the middle, falls on the Parva night, known as Vishnumurthy’s friend, and ends immediately. Vishnumurthy is Chamundi in Alakkunnil, the Paradeity of Kozhukal owners. From the usual Vishnumurti, there is a slight difference in the hair, clothes and facial expression. Also, there are some places given to Chamundi in Alakkunn after its departure and completion. It is customary to go there. In the morning, alone, without light, it is said to be parivat panna.
